The Rapha Continental riders are taking on the Amgen Tour of California route - stage for stage, mile for mile - testing the waters for what the professionals can expect next month. They're doing it without road closures, without fanfare, without hand-ups from a team car equipped with Yakima Racks and remembering to look around and enjoy the scenery along the way.
