Good times were had on the 2009 De Ronde van Oeste Portlandia, the weather was perfect and a bunch of Bike Vigilantes showed up to roll the devastating course. I quote "How tough were the climbs? One of them, on Brynwood Street, has a pitch of 24-28%, an incline that forced all but the toughest riders to get off and walk." The 48mile ride was a killer, even the last few miles were climbs that you did not want to see at mile 46! I'm pretty sure there were more than a few that had sore muscles the next day. Some good coverage here by Bike Portland and a ton of pictures by Dave Roth
Nick and Amy were host to the soon-to-be fabled PBR rest stop, sponsored by Pixie Project.

Hey, I took that second picture. Lots more of the Vigilantes and lots of other suffering cyclists on my site:

I think that second picture can be found in the "Fairview and Lafayette" album.
